in the cluster survey of this site the question "When your clusters first started, had you received any medical trauma within the previous year? (i.e. head trauma, surgeries, etc.)" is affirmed by 11% of the respondents. Unless the same percentage of the general public would answer 'Yes' to the same question it is not unreasonable to assume that head trauma does indeed start clusters in some.
After all, there are other genetically dependent diseases that can be speeded up or delayed by external influences, think of heart infarct or diabetes type II.
