Kim, you say Verapamil 2 per day, but not the amount (in mg). For heart disease the therapeutic range of Verapamil is usually 120 to 240 mg / day, and only in very refractory cases up to 360 mg. However, as prophylactic for cluster headaches, the useful dosage often starts at 360 mg /day and some go much higher, up to 920 mg. So maybe your hubby should talk to the doctor about a higher dosage.
As Nancy said, Verapamil (a calcium channel blocker) is the preventative of choice for CH, and beta blockers seldom show good results.
