So sorry to hear about Bill, August. He looked like a "Class A" cat to me.
I know what you mean about swearing off new pets. My cat of sixteen years died two years ago. He was one of the neatest cats in the history of the species. I was completely useless for days afterwards. I still think of him from time to time.
I can appreciate dogs, but I can't see myself ever owning one... their psychology is just too different from that of a cat.
Dogs have masters... cats have staff.
