My experience of cranial osteopathy - given by a Chiropractor specially trained in this treatment -is the opposite to Jonny's & Granpain's!
My usual springtime Cluster cycle started back end of March this year. I thought I'd try cranial osteopathy with my Chiropractor (who was treating me at the time for a trapped sciatic nerve. We'd discussed CH previously and she seemed to be very knowledgeable about the condition: she said she felt so sure cranial osteopathy could help, she offered to give me the first treatment free of charge there and then!) I was very sceptical to say the least, but what had I got to lose by giving it a go, except my pain?
After that first treatment I had no further attacks. After second treatment, all 'shadowing' stopped too. That was 11 weeks ago. I went twice a week for two weeks, once every other week for six weeks. I am booked to have a session with her on the 26th June before flying out to Atlanta to meet all you guys (don't want the long haul flight from the UK kicking off the pain again).
The nature of the beast is that often what works for one does not work for another. Maybe you have to have the treatment right at the start of your cycle for it to be effective? I do know from what my Chiropractor has told me that whoever is giving you the treatment has to have studied separately to do cranial osteopathy work.
Heck, we all know we'll try ANYTHING to get rid of the cluster pain. All I can say, it seems to be working for me at the moment.......
