I tried Depakote as a preventative and it didn't do anything for me. That's not to say it won't work for you, might want to give it a shot anyway.
As for the Imitrex pills, you could grind them up with a pill crusher (available at your pharmacy) and swallow the powder with some water. I do it all the time with pain medications.
The down side is that your body can absorb the Imitrex too quickly and have bad side effects. So, you're on your own if you try it, I refuse to be held responsible.
