Recently on the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.. i.e. radio) was a program about ice pick headaches being related to or caused by a neck injury known as whiplash.
Apparently extensive research was done (in New Zealand?) and the only bit i heard was a quick summary saying something about 'if the injury is low in the neck then the pain manifests itelf as back pain and if the injury is high in the neck then it shows up as ice pick head pain.
