Same boat lately. Not so much afraid, well ya afraid, but it seems my unconscious mind won't let me fall asleep. It seems to have a survival instinct that knows the consequences of sleeping are as sure as the sun rising. My mind wants to avoid it at all costs, but there is no answer to reassure myself that I'm capable of halting what's going to happen. It's tired of suffering lately and would rather stay awake than wake up in any more pain. Things will work out ok.
