I too am 42 and had CH for about 25 years now. Still trying to find a preventative for me. When O2 and imetrex don't work I go to the ER. I try very hard not to but sometimes I just have to. DHE doesn't work for me. Neither does demeral, I usually have to get diladid (sp). I have been hospitalized a few times. Lucky O2 works 75% of the time and imetrex always does except you can't take but two a day. Even though I have taken as many as 4. Next I am going to try nerontin (sp). Best to try to prevent them than deal with the uneducated ER docs. I carry a letter with me from my nuroligest. Most of the time it helps. But some doctors pay no attention to it. Welcome to the family. I'm glad it's been so long for you inbetween cycles. I hope this one is a short one. Stick around there is lots of support here. PFDAN Paula
