Hello,
Yesterday I had my first PF day since the beginning of
February. Not a single CH! (I was getting 3-4 a day).
I forgot what it was like to feel like a "normal" human
being again... Thank everyone on this board for the
information, discussions and knowledge. I went to the
neuro well equipped to discuss my situation.
My neuro started me on Predisone and Verapamil last Monday.
Predisone: 60mg -> 0mg (over 9 days)
Verapamil: 80mg -> 240mg (over 15 days)
By Thursday I was down to 1-2 CH a day, we increased the
Predisone to 100mg -> 0mg (over 9 days) on Friday and that
did it! The CH's are gone... Now I just hope that as
I taper off the Predisone that the Verapamil will hold
them off.
Shadows... I seem to be having these constantly now, it
is almost like the CH is right there ready to go, but the
meds are holding it back. I can almost feel the battle
going on in my head... Will these ever go away? Any
ideas about how to treat them? I get all the symtoms:
runny nose, droopy eyelid, dull pain in the normal areas
but it never develops into a full blown CH.
Verapamil... Once the Verapamil levels are established
in my bloodstream what should I expect? How often do
the CH breakthrough? Will I have shadows every day? How
do I determine the proper maintenance dosage?
I know everyone reacts differently to these meds and
that there is no such thing as a "normal" treatment but
whatever information you could pass along would be
much appreciated.
Thanks again for all your help and support, Joe
