hi joanne,
I live here in Austria/Europe (a very little country, close to Switzerland )and I very often read the discussion here about yr insurances in usa. In Austria (and the most european countries)everbody has to pay 2,5% of his salary for the state health insurance (the company where u work pays the same)but this gives u the right to visit as many docs, ambulances, hospitals and so on, as u need. All this is free - with the exeption of a small fee for the meds (3$ for description) and approx. 10$ a day for the hospital (for the first 4 weeks). On the other hand, we have also the possibility to make a private insurance, which pays everything which doesn't pay the state insurance. (e.g. if I want a single room in the hospital, or I need a special doc anywhere in the world)
I know, there's no good state insurance in usa yet, but why don't u take a good private insurance?
Excuse my bad english, but my mother tongue is german (or a dialect of this)
wish u painfree days (nights)
