Dear Joyce, My clusters are always changing.when they started in 1983 they were occasional,but progressed to severe chronic once a day every 4 or 5 days for about 6 years. then I had a spur removed from my nose (trigger point) and they went away for 1 month. Then they became chronic daily although not as severe as i could sit and touch my head. After seeing 5 different neurologists I took an injection of DHE-45 daily for 18 months. Somewhere in this time i left my then wife and did not have a headache for 1 month.
My headaches are now episodic ,but i never know what to expect. Last time was about 3 years ago. Now for 3 months. I have tried several meds again. The imitrex,amerge etc caused rebound headaches. I am using DHE-45 but now at 2 shots a day. I do add .1cc lidocaine because they do burn. hope this helps.
