I have had blood pressure problems while taking imitrex. I normally have a very low pressure but now even on verapamil and not using imitrex, my blood pressure is higher than it used to be. I had to take so many imitrex about 7 months ago, the Doc took me off them because of my blood pressure. As a nurse, I know our pressure and pulse elevate when we are in pain. I also, know one of the warnings of imitrex, zomig, amerge and the others are problems related to your heart (blood vessels). It sort of scares me to see what the long term use of these will be for us. As you know, the Drug co. still will not say they are for clusters because they do not want you using too many of them...sort of scary.. but what else can we do? And yes, his blood pressure is elevated but the time to get real concerned is when the diastolic (number on the bottom) goes up higher. How is his pulse rate? smiles, nancyc
