Can't say I really blame you for what you're thinking. During my 30 years of Ch, I've considered it too. I'm sure we've all considered it.
So far my job is pretty secure although I'm not very productive. Having been an practicing alcoholic for many years taught me how to cover up sluffing off pretty well. Master of excuses.
My wife? She left 2 1/2 weeks ago after 24 years of marriage. Kinda rough watching something you've worked at and wanted for more than half your life walk out the door.
Kids? I've got two beautiful daughters. One lives in Southern California, 350 miles away, and the other is going to school in Italy for the spring semester. So that leaves just me, the dog and two cats at home and of course old CH. The kids are the reason I'm still around. When I think of what it would do to them if I offed myself. No way I could be that selfish. They love their dad and I'm gonna make sure they have him for as long as possible. Just cause they're out of school or out of the house doesn't mean they're through with you. There's a lot more learning and guidance that they need. Even if it's just the security of knowing I'm there for them if needed.
Reconsider Lee. Decide you're gonna be there for your son no matter what it means you'll have to endure. It's the right thing to do and as my shrink says, "keep trying to do the right thing".
