I've been reading some of these postings, and even though they are some years old, I thought I'd give it a try. My wife is 31 yrs. old, and has been on Verapamil for about 9 years, for Atrial Fibrilation due to Mitrol Regurgitation. (Irregular heartbeat due to a leaky heart valve.) We just met with a high-risk OB/GYN because we're thinking of trying for a child. He said there's a slight risk of Verapamil stopping the baby's heart. What a bombshell. Is this just a doctor's 'fine print' to cover himself, or is this a major risk? This is the first we've heard about it.
