First, it's good that you have oxygen for your son. A little info: I'll put a link at the bottom showing the mask that most of us use. Set flow rate at 8-10 lpm. Keep him on oxygen for about 5 min. after the pain subsides. Using O2 as a preventive is questionable, and I haven't seen any positive reports. Some questions for you: I assume your son is being treated by a neurologist. Has he tried Imitrex (Summatriptan)? For many, the injection aborts a cluster attack within a few minutes. Has he been prescribed any preventives, like Verapamil (Calan), or lithium, or prednisone?
