Been an acute cluster head for 19 years and thought I had tried everything. I'm in week 4 of this series. They normally last about 12 weeks but the last one stayed for 5 months. I'm using Maxalt MLT, 10mgs now and because of the quick dissolve they seem to control a full blown much faster. I also found that taking a 24 hour decongestant every day seemed to lessen the intensity quite a bit. But, the real change came from you at this page. I had tried verapamil numerous times before to no avail but was always prescribed 120mgs. After reading of some of your successes with 240mgs I made the decision to up my dosage. I have now been 48 hours without a CH. Heavy shadow remains but no, I repeat, No headache. I am actually taking Covera HS 240mg. It's a time release generic and cheaper. Last night I took 2 darvocet to lessen the dull shadow and had my second great night of sleep. I am praying this success continues and am praying for remission for all of you.
