Clusterheadaches are not chronic headaches. They come in clusters (hence the name), that is, the patient has periods of weeks to months with daily several attacks that last from 15 minutes to 3 hours. The pain of a cluster attack is so intense that it is said to be one of the worst pains a human can endure.
Comparing "a chronic headache that can be cured by a change in diet" to a cluster attack is like comparing a gentle breeze to a tornado.
Clusterheads that fell into the hands of an allergist have probably added a couple of years to a correct diagnosis and consequently went this time longer without proper treatment.
