I have just been diagnosed with occipital neuralgia caused by Chiari syndrome? I have had a chronic intense headache for 32 days with no relief except when lying down. The pain originates from the top of the back side of my neck and radiates forward to behind the eyes and forehead. I had a nerve block which provided relief for 24 hours. I am currently taking Neurontin, which provides no releif and percoset 10 which helps some. Have you heard of any successful surgical techniques to combat this problem?
