Please share your experience with Prednisone

I have added Prednisone to my Verapamil today and was wondering if others who have used steroids could please tell me there experiences with it. Did it do the trick? How long did it take if it did? How long before you "weaned" off of it? Thanks so much for any input you may take time to leave for me on this :)
