For the gentleman in Sweden, Ueli I believe, who requested
this info, as well as others who expressed interest, here
is the info on the insert which accompanied the mask I
happen to now be using to suck O2.
I have been able to avoid any imitrex for two+ days
now - a miracle for me - because I have stuck with the
O2. Why the change, which I consider significant? I have
no doubt that this mask *does* work better - for me - than
the "simple mask" I used before.
But there are other factors. I went up to 480mg/day Verapamil
four days ago; perhaps it's "kicking in". I formed a determined
mind set to *not* take imitrex but to stay with the O2 even if
I ran out the tank; I really wanted to give my bod a break from
sumatriptin, which *I* believe caused my CH pattern to change;
this could be the "rebound effect" ... is the "cure" also the
"culprit"?
Many thoughts worthy of discussion, but perhaps in other
messages. So here is the info on the O2 mask:

| SALTER LABS
| one - No. 8130
| OXYGEN MASK
| ADULT SIZE with 7 ft. tubing
| Elastic strap style, Under-the-chin fit
| HIGH CONCENTRATION MASK
| NON-REBREATHER
| Vinyl
|
| DISPOSABLE (single patient use)
|

| 1. Place mask over patient's face covering both nose
| and mouth. Mask is elongated and fits over the nose
| bridge and under the chin.
|
| 2. Pass strap over patient's head and adjust for comfort

| strap is on neck below the ears.
|
| 3. Adjust the metal strip gently until mask fits snugly
| over the bridge of the nose.
|
| 4. Attach end piece to oxygen outlet. Turn oxygen to
| prescribed flow.

The key word is "NON-REBREATHER". Someone recently made a post about
this, regarding the little holes in the mask etc. This mask
is supposedly designed to let your exhaled air out while
keeping the pure O2 in and allowing one to breath nothing but
100% pure O2. Well, so they say.
Also, the bit at the end about inflating the bag before attaching
mask to patient? I don't know why that's necessary, but I do it
anyway. To inflate the bag, just turn on the O2 regulator; the bag
fills up real quick.
If this info proves useful to anyones efforts to rid themselves of
*any* CH misery, I will be even more delighted than I already am
by interacting with you dear, miserable souls. When it comes to
CH, it takes one to know one. :^)
