Too many times for whatever reason we have family, friends, drs. etc. treat us as if somehow we are not capable of living the life THEY think is a life of quality, or a life that is productive and meaningful. Being left with that esteem crusher and lack of understanding hurts so much. I'll tell you what though, in my book at least...if you have compassion for others and if you take the time to reach out and help someone, you are living a life that is worthwhile. If you can open your mind and your heart and listen to someone, you are living, truly living. When it comes down to it, it isn't how much money you make, or how far you've moved up your career or social ladder that counts in the end. It's how many times you've reached out and made a difference to someone. It's how much love you've shared in your life that in the end matters. You can't take any of the material gains with you, but you can leave behind many acts of love. Yeah it's mushy sounding but who gives a shit, it's still true.
My mom told me during our last talk that my life was worth shit. That was worst than if she spat in my face and slapped me, it still hurts. Now i have a friend that is hurting, and i think for maybe some of the same reasons i have. Sometimes we are not acknowledged for the gifts we have to give. So if your feeling right now down or alone, and like you have nothing to give, your wrong. Life is worth living...you just have to look for the hidden beauty in it. It's there, believe me.
Hope everyone is sleeping peacefully. You all have a beautiful weekend. As Bob says LYG's all of you.
