Holy cow! I didn't realize it's been a year already!
It warms my heart to know that something I started a year ago today in the middle of the night after taking a shot of Imitrex and searching the net to no avail for information on my headaches has been so helpful to so many people.
I thank all of you for the information that has been shared on this site in the last 365 days. I've learned a million times more about this terrible affliction in the last year than I have in the previous 13 years of having these things. I thank YOU for that!
It may sound a little strange for me to say this, but I hope the clusterheadaches.com FAMILY doubles over the next year. I wouldn't wish these things on my worst enemy, but I know there are a whole lot more of us out there!
Information is the key for us. We have been stuffed in the corner with migraine sufferers for so long, information that our headaches really are different is the key.
I would like to encourage all of you to not only send your storys to the national media (there's a list of email addresses for the major news programs if you want to click here), but get ahold of the local TV stations in your local area.
I sent my story to one of the local news stations here in Wichita and had a cameera crew at my house the next day. You don't know how many people that I know saw the story on the 10 o'clock news and said "damn dude, I knew you said you got bad headaches, but I didn't know they were that bad!". The more information we can get to the "general public", the better!!! Information, information, information!!
My friends in pain, you have truely been an inspiration in the last year! LET'S SPREAD THE WORD!!!
