My husband had cluster headaches and I had migraine headaches. We were debilitated by these beasts from hell until a doctor asked if we were willing to try being "de-sensitized." We said we'd do anything to get rid of the pain. He gave us both shots of something called Depo-medrol. I believe it was a steroid. We both took the shots for about a month, with 5 the first week, 4 the second and so on. Neither of us ever had a severe headache again. When our daughter was about two years old, she started holding her head and crying and screaming - same doctor, same medication. She was pain free until she started taking birth control pills. Now she has the headaches again. By the way, we were "cured" in 1970. Believe me, we know the terrible brain crushing pain that cluster and migraine headaches can bring.
