I have been using it pretty succesfully for about 7 months. It is not usually a first choice prevent but can be a useful alternative choice.
I find that the side effects are amplified at 300mg per day, particularly the cognative problems sometimes reported. The best way I can describe it is brain lock. I would have trouble pulling a word from my head on occasion. I could spell the word N-A-I-L, I knew it was something to pound into wood, I just couldn't say it. A while later, everything would be fine. I also found it real easy to quickly jump to another word like tack or brad or spike when I got stuck.
Best way I use it is to run at 200mg per day as a prevent and everything seems to go along fine. Every once in a while Ill get a breakthrough, maybe once every 3 or 4 weeks. Then every once in a while, Ill get a string of break throughs where I have to go up to 300mg for a couple 2 to 4 days. Just long enough to handle the increased break throughs but not bad enough that the increased sides are a problem. Then I can drop back down to 200mg per day.
