Dear Friends-
I don't know about you folks, but I constantly try to surround myself with beautiful music, pictures, books, etc. I have two of those small indoor fountains here in my little 1-bedroom condo. If you'd like to check out two of my unique discoveries, check out the web sites below.
The first one will show you a live, "streaming" video taken from Hilo, Hawaii. (I grew up there.) The camera must be mounted on the roof of one of the local businesses. It's usually aimed out- looking at the Hilo Bay. Kind of fun to check out the swaying palms, the waves, the occasional rainstorm, passing ships, etc. Makes kind of a fun- always changing "screensaver."
The second is to "Live 365." (http://www.live365.com) There, you'll find a multitude of internet music broadcasts. It takes a bit of configuring to get it set up the first time- but it's worth it! Once you're there, do a search for a station called, "The Positive Wave." (New Wave category.) I find it a treasure of never-ending, beautiful and peaceful music. I guess just about anyone with a newer computer- and a speedy internet connection, can "broadcast" his/her own station for the world to tune in to. I appreciated the music so much- that the other day, I sent its owner/broadcaster an email to thank him/her for compiling such a vast assortment of uplifting, soothing music. I was most surprised to find out that the broadcaster is a fellow from Hungary! He replied to my email, and said he was glad I enjoyed it. I have a DSL internet connection- which is an almost miraculous thing in and of itself. The broadcasts come in crystal-clear, in stereo. Sometimes I leave it on all night long. I have an incredible little Apple "iMac" Special Edition computer. Apple offers its customers a free software download of an application called "iTunes." If you start it up- it has a "Turn Visuals On" option. When you do that- it creates amazing, constantly-changing images, colors and patterns- "in tune" with the rhythm and frequency of whatever music you've chosen to listen to. I'm hoping it might have a bit of a "shroom" affect on me... ;-)
Enjoy- and relax.
