Mission Statement
The Organization for Understanding Cluster Headaches (O.U.C.H.) is an international,
not-for-profit advocacy group dedicated to providing support and information to people
around the world who suffer from the poorly understood affliction commonly called Cluster
Headaches, which has been described by one of its leading researchers as "probably the
worst pain that humans experience", and to increasing public awareness of and research
into Cluster Headaches.
(My opinion) You will reach more ch sufferers and concerned affiliations by linking OUCH material to Migraine and Headache sites then you will linking to Better Homes and Gardens. The OUCH mission statement is clear. The statement also makes clear it's desire to increase public awareness. I don't think that a one or two minute segment on the news is the answer ... but then again thats (my opinion.) Another personal opinion ... OUCH will do more harm for "the cause" by adopting an exclusive attitude. There are some good headache sites on the net. They have good resource material ... should OUCH not use this material? When headache sites - offer to help OUCH define the difference between cluster and migraine by providing space on their site - does OUCH really want to turn that down? Perhaps OUCH and ch.com are so interwoven that there is no difference in function between the two? I have noticed while doing searches for information, that the migraine or national headache sites are doing a much better job identifying the difference between cluster and migraine. A few short years ago, that seperation was not nearly as evident. Clear information provided to as many sites that will have OUCH is (in my opinion)in line with it's mission statement. Other than that mission statement and a general outline of committee duties - there is little else to run with.
