Had the stuff once for a complicated tooth extraction along with copious lidocaine. It made me feel safe from the pain. I was sorry when the dentist turned it off because I feared the pain would start, but it did not. The lidocaine worked also.
But I wonder whether nitrous oxide is safe to use outside a doctor's office. Maybe it does not stop pain for everyone - but you don't fear the pain when under its influence and that is a good thing.
