I have siffered from clusters for close to two years. the doctors treating me have tried;
1) Imitrix
2) Sumatripton (a.k.a. for Imitrix)
3) Ergotomine
4) Midchlor
5) Oxygen
6) Serzone
7) pamelor
8) Predisone
9) Depakote
10) Klonopin
and the only medicine that helps me with my pain, masks the pain if you will, is STADOL. They (the doctors) are afraid to keep on giving me STADOL, for fear of addiction, but my last attack Thursday of this week, end up with me running out of STADOl and my only option was to bang my head on the wall to kill the pain. I banged my head so hard on the wall because of not having any STADOL left was a result of a huge bruise on the right side of my shull and passing out because of the self inflicted pain. So Itell my Doctors, my choice is either to bang my head until I inflict a subdermal hematoma(sp?) or use STADOL. You decide which is worse.
My girlfriend almost called EMS after I passed out, but in an hour I awoke. This was not the first time it had aoccured, I went to the doctors the next day. I tried Depokote, it did not work. tasted and worked like candy..Nothing seems to work for me..Nothing
I am a pre-med student at the university of South Carolina and as a future doctor I am really losing my faith in them.. I am very close to giving up. I did find out though that if I drink small amounts duuring the day(beer is my choice) it does decrease the frequency of the attacks. I have heard that alcohol increases frequency of attacks for some people. But like Isaid the alcohol thing is just for me....nobody else..ask your doctor first if you think it might help
Peace...Bill
