As I have yet to find a medical treatment that
consistently works, I have decided to focus on finding a way to handle the emotional and psychological side effects of ch's. I think it is common for people dealing with a chronic painful condition to have a lot of mental fallout especially when the condition seems to have a mind of its own. Accepting that I am just going to have to deal with them and trying to look at it as a challenge and a learning/growing experience has been the best medicine I have found because the benefits last beyond the pain.
Keep at it, I believe with an open mind and sincere desire we can all find a way through this condition.

p.s. As an addendum, the pain just receded and I am basking in the afterglow of those glorious endorphins. You would have seen a very different post about an hour ago : ).
