Just started back up after a 10 month layoff.
Cycles usually last 6-8 weeks with 1-2 HA/day.
I use O2 and imitrex as abortives,
but never had much luck with other treatments.
I use the O2 whenever possible (my brother is
a respiratory tech and I get as much as I want),
and imitrex when it doesn't work. I never let
my HAs go to completion any more.
What I've noticed in past cycles is that it
sometimes takes reaching crisis proportions
before the things go away. At the worst, I
might get 3-4 HAs/day and O2 might not work
at all. At that point, I sometimes go on a
prednisone taper and things settle down and
fade away.
Does anyone else have similar cycles? What
do you do to kill them?
Life gets really tough for me if I have to
travel on business and I can't take the O2
with me. Once I rely totally on imitrex, I
set myself up for a vicious cyle of rebound
HAs. Any suggestions on what to do in this case?
