Well, I almost always get mine in the middle of the night and am only half awake. The other night I tried the old "no, it's not another one" but it didn't work. I find myself exhausted during the day because of interrupted sleep! When I have an attack I tend to tense up in reaction to the pain (and the fear of the pain). Sometimes I can't go back to sleep because I know I will just get another one. I think the whole process is very exhausting; pain takes a lot out of a person!
