Imitrex dosages

Hello,
I haven't been here for quite awhile... life is good and Imitrex is my best friend ... in using the Imitrex injectable (.5ml vials not autoject) I tried using .17ml (1/3 dosage) and that worked sometimes; sometimes I had to try another .17 and maybe another .17... I decided to go to .25 per dose and almost all the time that works... a couple of times I've had to used the 2nd .25. Recently, twice I suffered with bad 2-dayers and took another .25 (3rd dose)about 18-20 hrs after the first. When can I safely take another dose of .25 without endangering myself? I know that the meds say .5 only in a 24hr period but I'm guessing there really is some slack there or it might become dangerous to someone... if anyone has more experience please contact me. I don't want to abuse this and my dr. and pharmacist can only go by what the literature says. Thanks in advance for your help.
