DHE-45 is an old tried and true drug for HAs. It works best if injected IV, but after a while you learn to give shots yourself. They do help most people, but if you get them IM (injected in your rear) they feel like battery acid.
You have to have an injection of an antinauseau med first or you'll throw up your guts. Reaglan is usually what they use, but you can't mix them in the same syringe. Pheneragan you can mix and just take one injection, but it does hurt.
When the Imitrex doesn't work, DHE-45 usually will.
