Thanks to all of you for posting this info. This is the most action I've seen on this subject for some time. All this feedback is exceptionally useful. What is noticable is that in almost every instance the shrooms alter the course of the cycle. A common effect seems to be a reduction in frequency but lengthening of individual attacks.
Many people also describe increased shadowing, and other non-cluster type headaches. A strange hollow feeling in one temple also seems to crop up from time to time.
All of these things seem to preceed a break in the cycle, although sometimes it does take more than one hit to get there. A lot depends on whether you are episodic or chronic, and what point in the cycle you take the shrooms. Episodics who take the shrooms early in the cycle report a remarkable level of instant success. Chronics, and those taking the shrooms at peak cycle seem to get this reduction in frequency / increase in duration of headache effect to begin with. It's almost as if the shrooms are preventing the headaches when coming, so that when they do arrive they are pretty pissed off!
If any of you guys achieve a remission, then I suggest you get prepared in the interim and catch the next cycle as early as possible.
My guess at a prognosis...
Ike - I think you are on the way. The shadowing may clear up on it's own. If not then onw more dose should do the business.
FREEk - it sure looks like the messed around with the cycle. Since you haven't reporting anything above a 7 yet I'm pretty hopeful. It seems to take around 48 hours to reach equilibrium.
Jeff - I'm less confident about the quality of shrooms/strength of the dose that you took. It's probably safer for you to grow your own, so that the dose can be properly regulated. If you want to continue with dealers then LSD is a safer bet... it's not possible to poison someone with a 5mm square piece of paper (unless it's sprayed with nerve agent LOL). I would also suggest 2 week long detox prior to this treatment.
Ont he mixing shrooms and alchohol thing, believe me this is quite safe. I would tend not to mix them with Imitrex (or any triptan), ergotamine, or methysergide. A little alchohol before shrooms is highly recommended, if alchohol is a major trigger then it's sure as hell one way to gauge how successful you've been. It also settles down any nerves and antici-tici-tici-pation anxiety. Subsequent to the shrooms kicking in alchohol will have no effect, and you will find yourself unable to get drunk. It does taste good though...
Hope this helps.
