...I had an appt. w/ my neurologist this past week.
He checked my calendar pages, ( I charted Jan, Feb, & March since it's my firt cycle with this dr.), and listened to what I had to say then made two additional dx's.
In addition to Clusters & Migraines he decided I'm dealing w/ Restless Leg Syndrome and Trigeminal Neuralgia.
Changed my med (- I can't take Verapamil.)
He wanted me to try nortriptyline. 25 mg daily.
(FYI- he said no way should I take amitriptyline..apparently that produces some very bad side effects)
This because I no longer have prescrip. ins., so he's hoping to find an inexpensive preventative. If this works, it's less than $14 per month.
Some of what I had labeled "Shadows" he believes to be Trigeminal Neuralgia. He asked if I ever had any that moved very quickly like an electric impulse. I have. My description of them had been like lightening going down one side of my face. That along w/ some of the burning I experience are the symptoms he believes to be Trigeminal Neuralgia.
So far so good on the new med. Thus far it has stopped the Restless Leg Syndrome, so I'm getting more sleep and that always helps.
