"Yourself" is therefore quite correct in context, as it corresponds to the original "you". Had he initially said "thou," then yes, the "thy" form would apply.
Or are you alluding to something else, or was this some sort of cryptic metaphor, or just a simple attempt at a lesson in grammar and useage? Just curious.
