all the jobs at the university pay minimum and most of them, you just sit guarding a dorm room or whatever, the dean requested that my son work for her in helping her balance the budget, so he does spreadsheets on everything from whether to buy or lease a copy machine or to hire a maintenance position or farm the work out, he is saving the university thousands.
He also works in an office with full time employees that are constantly pestering him, get me a cup of coffee, file this for me, I told him to politely tell them that he didn't note their signature at the bottom of his miserable paycheck, but he is too nice to say something. Ironically he can complain to me, but not to these bossy fellow workers, so when he starts, I Just say, no sense in talking about it, nothing will change by talking this out with me. My guess is that you also are too nice, but from my own experience in working in that environment, if you let them run all over you, it will get worse, but if you take a firm stance, you will get respect.
