Started out with "California" martinis, finished off with Cutty Sark. When in Sacramento in 92 on business, I could not get a decent martini. Preferred no olives and very dry, always got an olive salad laced with vermouth. Sooo sez I, a dry martini is just gin with barely a wisper of vermouth... TaDa, the CA martini, a double Beefeaters on the rocks. Works...
