Lee went through the sleep study earlier this month and was told he has a subtype of sleep apnea--upper airway resistance syndrome--almost sounds bogus, doesn't it? He was supposedly waking on the average of every 2 minutes. Anyway, using a CPAP machine or having surgery done were options he was offered. Strangely enough, the sleep study had a positive impact on his cluster headaches. He was pain free the night of the study and hasn't had an attack since (3+ weeks). Whether sleeping disorders are related will continue to be debated. But many CH do seem to suffer from both.
