chat room registration

Look, I don't mind registering for chat but when I get disconnected (as I too often do) I can't get back in under any combination of Charlie or the like. It's damned frustrating. I'm sure there is a way to do this but lately, I'm not allowed in if my name is sitting there. It pisses me off.
