We found this at UKCH too, eventually I shut the gb down, and just kept it as an archive. It's so much better to get new people communicating, rather than just leaving a message.
Mo and I trawl the gb every two or three days for new UK folk - why don't you volunteer to take your own state or province, and send a personal message - much nicer than an auto-responder.
Maybe a "I'll do Kansas/Arakansas/whatever" (no text) message here could do all 50 states in the next day - go for it.
