A long time ago at Mass Gen Hosp/Harvard Headache Forum there was a sharing of information about Magnesium. It is difficult for the body to absorb. Dr Boyd (DDS) was very helpful with his contributions at that time.

I hope this helps to shed some light on the mystery and is of some help to someone. I personally found that taking Mg supplements in tablet form eased my eyes' sensitivity to light.
