Bob - I would have a hard time taking a cold shower. But what I've
tended to do when the CH really gets bad is soak my entire head under
cold running water in the bathtub. You know how cold tends to hurt
before it numbs a body part? I slam cold water into my right eye/temple
area until it starts to hurt - the cold-hurt - and that causes me to
breath extremely shallowly and rapidly while the cold-hurt pain is
subsiding; then I begin to breath more deeply and slowly and sometimes,
that has terminated a seemingly interminable CH. Of course, they're *all*
interminable. Regarding heat, I've never had the notion to go to that,
though I would if there's something to the heat affecting the head's
blood vessels.
