I've read all the posts in this here 'little thread' and it's
really got my pulse rate up! Rob's approach is very interesting
and I know CHs have been given several names over the years (this
info is at the start of the Medical Info on this site).

I once called the doc's office, having a CH, and was responded to in
such a way that I screamed, "why you F*CKING RETARD, YOU DON'T
KNOW D*CK! I'M DYIN' HERE! NOW GET ME THE MOTHER F*CKER WHO CALLS
HIMSELF A DOCTOR! I KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS SUFFERING SH*t THAN ALL YOU
IDIOTS PUT TOGETHER!" And then I moaned and sobbed inhumanly. Amazingly,
the person who answered the phone, after a pause of stunned silence, said,
"yes sir", leaving me muttering, "Buncha friggin' imbiciles." I have very
little control during the CH, especially if I have to interact. So my
hat's off the many of you who, one way or another, manage to continue your
appointed rounds while having a CH.

A major point made in this thread is that there are times when the
CH-er *must* have immediate attention, or immediate response. I, like
many of you, have wished mightily to have a particular person suffer even
one minute of a CH, just so they *know*! It would be like showing a picture
to someone, thereby saving the thousand words. The experiential reality of
the CH, imho, simply cannot be expressed in words or poetry. But trying to
do so can really improve one's vocabulary!

Another thought: I may be stating the obvious, but it's despicable
what has become of the 'med/insurance machine'. My insurance company
at one point a couple months ago said, "We have not heard of treating
CH with O2, so we will not preauthorize the request for medical O2."
SAY WHAT? I've only been doing it for, oh, twenty years or so. The docs
were just as amazed and fortunately, that little problem was rectified.
But who the hell needs that extra stress?? These days, one must be a
real activist in one's own behalf in order to not get screwed aroung
by the system and its minions. My vote's in for a health care system
that enables all folks access to their med needs.

Hope I haven't written too much here.
