To replace wsock32.dll, you have to do it in MS-DOS mode. I have put the Windows 98SE "wsock32.dll" file on my web site to make fixing the virus easier.
Important! Follow these instructions ONLY if you are running Windows 98SE (Second Edition)::
1. In your web browser's address bar type: http://home.earthlink.net/~frankaford/wsock32.dll and choose "Save to disk". Save the file to c:\temp
2. Shutdown your computer choosing "Restart in MS-DOS mode".
3. When your computer restarts with a MS-DOS prompt, type: copy c:\temp\wsock32.dll c:\windows\system /Y
4. Type: exit
5. When your computer restarts (in normal Windows mode) you should have a wsock32.dll that does not have the virus.
Hope this helps!
