I've been on Verapamil now for 3 months. During the last 2 months, my dosage has been 160 mg right before bedtime (my clusters occur almost exclusively at night. Up until 2 nights ago, I hadn't noticed any side effects from the Verapamil. Then, 2 nights ago, I awoke in the middle of the night with quite a bad dizzy spell. The room was spinning, and I also got nauseous. The dizziness lasted for a few minutes, the nausea for about 1 hour. It was pretty scary and unpleasant. I'm attributing this to the Verapamil. I'm guessing that maybe it happened because I had an extremely heavy dinner, which perhaps I was busily digesting, leaving me more prone to lightheadedness from the Verapamil. Last night, I had no problems.
Has anyone else experienced dizziness and/or nausea from Verapamil? (On the bottle, there is a warning about possible dizziness.) If so, how do you deal with it, emotionally as well as physically? I'm telling myself this is a small price to pay for not having clusters. Also, in my drug book, it says dizziness is a mild side effect.
I'd appreciate any comments, advice, etc.
