There's probably no connection between clusters and shingles. My shingles and my clusters are both on the right side, but my shingles runs from the right cheek of my butt down to the back of my right knee. Also, I had my first cluster attack in 1956, whereas I had my one and, so far, only shingles attack in 1998.
