Yoke- It's safe to go anywhere on the http://www.symantec.com website, but the virus that I think you have is w32.hybris.gen@mm. See my reply to Margi (down about 30 lines).
In your McAffee properties, is it set up to scan all the files on your hard drive, or just incoming and outgoing? If it's only incoming or outgoing, it won't find a virus if it was already on your PC before McAffee. McAffee has a 'console' mode where you can make it scan your entire hard drive now.
