I am the youngest of seven children. I would like to do something special for my mom on Mothers Day. She is such incredible person. She raised 7 kids by herself, as my father died early in my life. I was about 8 and the oldest was 18 years old. Extra money was an luxury, so money was used for our needs. She worked as a nurses aid at the local hospital. The hours were 11-7am. After my dad died my older brother and sisters helped take care of the younger ones, financial and as a nanny. When I was about 16-17 my mother went back to college to finish her long lasting dream to become an LPN. She didn't receive financial help through the government. She had to work as a nurses aid Fri.,Sat.,Su. at the hospital and the she went to school Mon.thru Fri. Not to mention she still had children at home to take care of. After college and a few years later she re-married a very nice guy(Duane) and between the two of them they have 12 children and 21 grandchildren. My mom should be very proud of herself, all of her children graduated from high school and then some went on to college. Sometimes we may say things that hurt her but we are all proud to call her mom. She has shown us that there is more to life than money. She showed us that love goes a long way. She has tried to always be there for her kids and grandkids. Now that we are all older I think that it is time for her to put herself first. She has always made sure we were taking care of first. That is why I think that this year we all should do something nice for her. We would also like to tell her that we love her and are proud of her.
