Although I personally cannot say for sure that shrooms stopped my latest cycle in its tracks, I take issue with some of your "givens".

Your thinking is wholly geared to the US situation. I agree the US is big, and I will agree most visitors here are from the US. Still - there are countries where having the stuff is not illegal and consequently researching the stuff will present lesser problems.

Our Department of Health issued a report on shrooms recently, declaring them not dangerous and non-addictive.
Now I know the rest of the world has often declared my country (The Netherlands) absolutely crazy and foul, and the fount of nearly anything vile and lifethreatening there is - in part because of a more permissive attitude on what other countries call drugs.

Well, consider this - it's the media that tell you so. Are they ever honestly looking for issues of just exploiting something that sells newspapers (or advertising time)?

Think of the press cluster headache has been having. Not honest either, hm?

I am not advocating regular use (or if you will abuse) of any substance. Pinky and Flash will witness that I went to the shrooms quite reluctantly and I am still not too happy with them though there was a positive result.

But there is a principle involved here.

Paco asked some peole what they believed. Unasked I am adding what I believe, and that is

that we should have the right to investigate - not for fun, but for health.

Annemarie
